Ramsey Pavilion bounced back from their recent defeat against league leaders Little Downham Swifts with a comprehensive 8-2 drubbing of Mildenhall Utd.
The Pavos opened the scoring through leading marksman Kyle McPartlin before doubling their lead through strike partner Jake Burton. Just before half time McPartlin went clear again but saw his effort go just wide. 2-0 the score at half time but Mildenhall had looked dangerous on the break in the 1st half and would have felt that they were by no means out of the contest.
Shortly after the break however, the contest was effectively over when a bullet header from substitute Jason Wilson put the home side three up and shortly after it was four thanks to a close range finish from Burton.
Then came a slight wobble for the Pavos when Mildenhall pulled one back from the penalty spot, and then another from a breakaway move to make the score 4-2 but, after that, the floodgates opened.
Jake Burton broke clear once again to complete his hattrick for 5-2, Jason Wilson scored a second well taken header following good work down the right by Alex Ramos for 6-2, Burton bagged a fourth to round off an excellent individual display from the former Godmanchester Rovers man and Skipper Steve Hurst rounded off the scoring in the dying moments to end the game 8-2.
A convincing victory for Ramsey Pavilion and one that the Pavo faithful felt had been on the cards for a while having seen missed chances cost their side results in recent weeks.
The last round of fixtures for 2016 sees 6th placed Ramsey Pavilion travel 9th placed Wimblington with the two sides are separated in the league table by just the one point.
