,Three wins from three for Ramsey Pavilion as they progressed to the Second Round of the Creake Charity Shield at the expense of St. Ives Rangers, at side that currently ply their trade a division higher than the Pavos in Div 1B of the Cambs County League.
Player / Manager Matt Brading started himself in an advanced role in place of the absent Kyle McPartlin and it was he that opened the scoring following a well worked move. Rangers tried to get a foothold in the game and managed to equalise from a corner but the comeback did not last long as Brading added a second to restore his sides lead just before half time.
The second half was dominated by the visiting Pavilion side and, at times, you would have been hard pressed to pick which of the two sides was from the higher division. Eventually it fell to Skipper Steve Hurst to round of the scoring with a smart finish from distance.
3-1 the final score meaning Ramsey Pavilion advance to take on Fordham, also of Division 1B, in round 2 on 14th October at Cricketfield Lane.
A return to league action this weekend (23rd Sept) sees The Pavos welcome Brampton Reserves to The Lane for what will be their first home fixture of the season.
